Yeah, Diamond is moving to Egypt because Obama placed a temporary moratorium on drilling (which, by the way, has since been lifted).
I’m sure the $100 MILLION PROFIT had nothing to do with their decision, and was just a coincidence, right?

The ban is necessary until we can effectively regulate the processes used by unethical companies such as BP and Haliburton. Who cares if disasters such as the current one caused in the gulf, the largest environmental disaster in history, move away from our nation. Are you a hermit? Have you seen what unregulated, rushed and unsafe oil drilling causes?

Of course he’s destroying our economy, but in his defense he has no leadership experience, no accomplishments and is generally just innocently ignorant of the real world. Try asking someone who voted for Obama just why they did. They will spout all kinds of things like how he was a great speaker, gave new "hope" for real "change", blah, blah, blah. But will they cite any experience of his? No, because he had none. Any accomplishment of his? No, he had none of those either. He even won the Nobel Prize in anticipation that he WOULD do something…….someday.

it actually started with clinton signing the NAFTA . it cut out tariffs on imported goods . and started the rush to move jobs to mexico for the cheap labor . under bush , he actually gave tax breaks to move jobs to china . the solution is to abrogate all free trade agreements to bring home the jobs . free trade is not free – it costs millions of jobs . congress changed the laws that got us in this mess , they can change them back . simple .
*and if we did like every other industrialized nation and REQUIRED a relief well to be drilled at the same time as the primary well , we would not be in this situation . apparently the big oil companies were able to "lobby" congress with enough cash so that they deleted the requirement .
in 1910 the lakeview gusher in kern county california spill 378 million gallons in 18 months before they got it under control . in 100 years , some things never change . big oil still goes cheap on safety .

1. The US has not banned offshore drilling. It has placed a six-month moratorium on deepwater drilling.
2. It affects currently 33 drilling sites. There are currently about 620 offshore platforms, so this will affect about 5% of rigs in the Gulf.
Outsourcing in the US started taking place in the 1980′s and has continued to grow every year. The presidents since then have done nothing to decrease it. I guess you would rather not have any moratorium and end up dealing with 33 new sites of oil gushing into the Gulf.
Edit: Yes, of course. It’s all Obama’s fault. He is responsible for protecting the US from further catastrophes like the Gulf spill, so it’s his fault that the industry’s failure to achieve safety forces him to put a moratorium on drilling.

Finally, it took likes two months for this to become the worst environmental disaster. Maybe it wouldn’t have been so bad if Obama hadn’t turned down help, repeatedly. The Democrats did that during Katrina, what is it with Democrats turning down help in emergencies?

You can also say "two thousand ten" though and not just "twenty ten". So, the two thousands can be the entire century, just like the 1900s is. You could mean the 1900s as in 1900-1909 or the 1900s as in 1900 – 1999. When it's 2010, I'll probably say "two-thousand ten" and not "twenty ten"…which sounds odd.
