So well put, Will. Our “jobs” governor doesn't seem to think the reduction in state jobs really is a reduction in jobs. Maybe the right doesn't believe government jobs are “real” jobs. Only private-sector jobs count. As you point out, reductions in state spending also mean elimination of private-sector jobs. Maybe ANY jobs funded by government money don't count, if they're providing services for the poor, the disabled, and the elderly. Jobs financed by his personal state-funded slush funds DO count.
