Well I say this as a non UFC fan. Its just not my thing…I'm TMA. But nonetheless its still a fun sport to watch.
It could have been due to multiple reasons… Most likely simply bad judging. No different than some football games have been badly referee'd. Thats just the nature of sports. Any time you have different judges/referees your gonna have different things being watched for. We see this in TMA as well. The judges may think one thing is most important and then the next tournament they are looking for something else.
In this instance, a "rig" is a special-purpose vehicle pulled by a team of animals. It could be a wagon or cart pulled by a team of horses, or a sledge pulled by a team of oxen. In the not-too-distant past [during WWII, when gas couldn't be spared], these rigs would have included beer wagons, bread wagons, milk wagons, etc., and earlier rigs would have included stagecoaches, hayricks, etc.
To fix an object (usually mechanical) to a working condition in a haphazard way. Also known as doing a MacGyver on it. This can apply to any non working thing, to fix it in a nonconventional way. This term was created during WW2, in reference to the Germans who were referred to as "Jerries" as slang. Allies often came across hastily repaired objects left by the Germans hence the term Jerry-Rig came to be. Tom Jerry-Rigged that engine so that it burns more fuel than it was designed to.
Jury rigging refers to makeshift repairs, made with only the tools and materials that happen to be on hand. It was a nautical term — on sailing ships a jury rig is a replacement mast and yards improvised in case the original mast is lost or damaged.
The expression has been in use since the 1600's … it's thought that the use of the word "jury" comes from Old French, "ajurie," meaning help or relief.
"Jerry-built" has a separate origin and implies shoddy workmanship. "Jerry-rigged" came from mingling "jury rig" with "jerry-built."
I agree!!!!! It has gotten completely ridiculous on here. I have gotten more violations in the last week than I have since joining this place. I have already "cleaned out" some contacts who I thought may be following me around. Perhaps, I need to do more cleaning? There are some very jealous and humorless people lurking around and I find them PATHETIC!!
So, NO doubt, I feel a violation in the near future. I would hate to have to reject any new contacts but if I must, I must!!!
Welding = the act of preforming the weld. Welder = the "machine" that makes it capable to make the weld (or supplies the power for welding). Weldor = the "person" that makes the weld.
