Thanks for this. Honestly, I’m a total newbie and I think I just pushed too much too soon and that’s what did it. A couple weeks rest and some gentle elliptical training helped me feel better. I also had very bad shoes so I bought some Mizunos and that’s helping too. Just checked my notes: I would think that Anderson takes Adam and Eve to be a merism of the human condition (See p.120ff). I would posit that Anderson isn't concerned with the historicity of Adam and Eve, as Western Christianity is concerned about them. We attempt to argue if Adam and Eve were not historical persons (i.e., actually lived and moved and had being), then the biblical narrative crumbles. Anderson, on the other hand, is more concerned about Adam and Eve's relationship to Israel (which indeed might be significant for your thesis Brian).
