It seems that the Internet has a lot of readily available information about living on a rig. Perhaps professional information is what you need to pay for?

Some links below might give you a place to star, though I imagine that they’re probably weighted toward making life sound fairly cushy and nice compared to reality. You might be interested in the top link more than the others. Good luck with your endeavors.

If you want to work as a "inspector" or similar work do an internet search for mudlogger. If your looking to be a deckhand or roughneck check out the sites given by Mark V. Mudlogging isn’t very hard, but demanding because you will be responsible for a 12 or more hour shift. When I did this work we were offshore for between 7 to 30 days at a time. Deckhands and roughnecks have 12-hour shifts but generally 7, 14, or 30 days on duty. It is also hard dangerous work.

PS working conditions range from poor to good. In the five years I was off shore I had one job were the conditions were excellent, but I worked the entire well, about 56-days.

Then it got worse.

Don't. Bad choice. Just put it down and walk away.
