If you are already a sparky, you will know that the regs on the rigs are the toughest in the world! Rig-regs! You would have to approach the company and find out what they want as qualifications and then do the course.

That is the one were PART of the course is how to escape from a sinking helicopter!
And you do it underwater in a simulated helicopter!
NOT for the faint hearted!

Actually my dad manged to get onto the rigs straight from the electricity board. Basically it was all being in the right place at the right time.
I would try applying and see what happens – it worked for my dad (almost 30 years ago) and it could work for you!

I give english clases to foreigners who work on rigs, they don´t have rig experience, some have worked on boats but 1 electrician who was in clases hadn´t any experience at sea. I think that the best thing is who you know, if you know someone working on the rigs who´ll put in a good word for you…that´s how it works here
