I found you online while searching for someone who may be able to help me with a career goal of mine. I see that you work on an oil rig and was wondering if you would be willing to tell me how you got your foot in the door.
Usually that person will be more than willing to assist you, most people feel good when someone approaches them for career advice in their field. Be very thankful and if possible try to get them to give you the contact name and number of a boss who would ultimately be the hiring manager if you got an interview.
