They work roust-abouts to death. As an engineer, your buddy is safe. Roust-abouts get hurt all the time. Don’t worry about hurricanes.

Really, level 5 = beta test? I had not heard that, but that would be cool if it was true.

And yea, get a new rig. Even though I love macs, if you really want it to be a gaming rig, go PC. Just don't get Vista, it's not even close to worth it. Might be in a year, but I still doubt it.

You can get a very gaming friendly PC for around 1000, and something that will last for around 2000.

You'll probably need either an appropriate DIY manual for your car or someone with experience doing it–and a socket wrench, adapter for oil filter, new filter…and for the oil a drip-pan and containers for the old oil.
Unless it's located in the middle of the engine and needs a special tool just to reach it, the oil filter would take about 5 minutes to change. Changing the oil itself might take half an hour.

First of all, ignore the negative "comments"… oops! OMG! I used quotes wrong!! A sure sign it's the end of the world! LOL!
Anywhoo, you might want to mention what your future career plans might be. What do you see yourself doing in a few years, perhaps. Whatever the reasons, if you enjoy what you do, then it was the right decision. You seem to be choosing a very repectable field of work, so do your best and be proud. Good luck.
