in uk there is a test you need to do before you can work on oil rigs, pal is doing it now but i forget what its called. sure it costs a couple 1000 to do aswel

You might have to start on an on-shore at some sort of training centre and you will probably need a Health and Safety training certificate before they let you
Whatever skill you end up working on the off-shore rig you will probably have to learn on-shore first.

Well usually its because those events are periods of time when you are devoting your full attention to your spirituality.
