Do you think Obama sabotaged the BP oil rig in a desperate attempt to create jobs?

The oil rig disaster looks like it’s going to lead to lost jobs. The article expects $5.5 billion in lost tourism and fishing. That’s not small change.

I fail to see a way the Obama administration could benefit from this if it was intentional.

You have your kooks on the right who will want to believe this the same way as you have kooks on the left who think Bush blew up the WTC’s on 9/11. The same logic applies to both: The government cannot do this because they can’t keep something that big a secret.

well it made me wonder if he would sacrifice a plethora of marine life (ironically) so he woudlnt have to offshore drill (to please his base) and since he called it off this morning, seems a bit suspicious to me…

I dislike Obama greatly and believe a lot of unflattering things about Obama and his intentions for this country, but you are nuts.

If you disagree with Obama’s policies, make a logical case based on facts, historical perspective, etc. Making up crap like this is despicable and you should be ashamed of yourself. Fight the good fight against Obama’s policies and stop this BS.

This is akin to wacky liberals saying Cheney blew up the levies in New Orleans instead for blaming the Democrat mayor and governor for not properly maintaining the system.

Seriously, why is it that the conservatives/republicans on here suspect Obama not only of villainy, but cartoonish super-villainny?

No, I think Obama sabotaged the BP oil rig to pass the Cap and Trade Bill which is the biggest Scam out of Washington. How ironic is it that the explosion happens right after Earth Day?

  15. Bithter says:

No I don’t think that Obama is behind this dissaster but do suspect that this was the result of sabotage. There was two explosions that occurred that could have been intentional detonations. The timing of this, the day before Earth day is suspicious. There have been a lot of threats by radical environmentalists to offshore drilling and there is always the possibility of Muslims doing another act of terror.

  16. WHP says:

For those of you who are skeptical you have to remember that Obama is a Muslim and it is the Muslim countries that stand to loose by us drilling for our own oil. So, I wouldn’t put it past him and I also wouldn’t put it past anyone who has a lot invested in foreign oil. It is just to coincidental that we have not had an oil disaster in the U.S. for the past 20 years and all of a sudden after passing off-shore drilling we have a disaster?

… No. This is just more every day garden variety predatory capitalism.

We saw it with Massey Mines ignoring their safety violations to save money.

We saw it with Toyota saving money at the expense of lives too.

Now we see it with BP who used a cheaper valve rather than the half million dollar valve that should have allowed a remote turn off.

Who pays? Every time it’s We the People.

Who wants to regulate? Democrats. Who wants to deregulate? Republicans.

I definitely think it’s a possibility that should be investigated. We’re talking about the most radical President that the US has ever seen…and the worst. He really does not like this country, as far as I am concerned and has been making every effort to destroy us. His goal is to cripple us as a nation. Everything he has done and continues to do is all about HIM. He wants to cripple us as a nation and make all desperate to the point where everyone relies on HIM to provide us with his healthcare and his version of everything else, under HIS rule. Cap and Trade…funny how this event happened when it did. Funny how he so wants to have his administration and media go after Palin and everyone else who wants to do whatever it takes to help us stop being dependent on other countries for oil. Funny how as he continues to seek new ways of creating JOB LOSS, this does one helluva number!!! It destroys our economy even more, making more people even more dependent on HIM and his handouts. This does not only impact jobs, but our environment, way of life and yet in his bizzaro world, he thinks it helps HIM and that is why this happened. Investigate, investigate, investigate. Impeach, impeach, impeach. Notice how Michelle and the girls are also off limits the way nother President’s family has EVER been? Notice how he has continuously ditched the media that is supposed to go with him everywhere? Notice how…gee, the list goes on and on. Put it all together, people!!!

Not to create jobs, but to push his agenda against drilling in this country. This administration is as Machiavellian as they come. Capable of any means to their desired end, no doubt in my mind.

"Due to" is not a replacement for "as a result of" because it is an incomplete sentence.

The correct use of "due to" requires a verb (is, are) in front of of it. So, saying "due to the storm, the game was postponed" is incorrect. You may say "as a result of the storm, the game was postponed". If you wish to use "due to", you should say something like "the postponement of the game was due to the storm".

  23. The origin of the word crash in computer usage refers to the reading head of the magnetic hard drive actually contacting the data disks. Or the head crashing into the disk.

Crash has since evolved into meaning almost any kind of computer problem.

I would not call your problem a crash. I would call it freezing. It's just a terminology thing. I'm sure a computer engineer or programmer would have another word for it.
