Now it apears the current thinkng is to stop poor people having any chance of going to university with the DAUNTING prospect of uni fees well beyond many’s comprehension, disabled people being told they should get up off their asses (possible out of there wheelchairs) and start working, maybe as an oil rig worker or something (lol). With people getting 44 grand a year moaning about lossing their child benefit is this country leading to a major split in british society, a them and us attitude that will reslut in people having to resort to actions that they do not want to resort to in order to live. A dramatised version of events, but with valied and realistic substance behind my question, is this country stuffed ?

I LOVE WHEELCHAIRS
I EAT WHEELCHAIRS
I BREATHE WHEELCHAIRS
I KISS WHEELCHAIRS
I PLAY WITH WHEELCHAIRS…
I LIKE TO BOM WHEELCHAIRS
ISA WHEELCHAIR
I WANT your WHEELCHAIR
LET ME AT `EM (your wheels)
LET’S HAVE AN OIL SESSION BABES
I WANT YOUR WHEELCHAIR LICENSE PLATE NUMBER
WHAT YOUR DIGITS YOU LOVELY LITTLE WHEELCHAIR?
ARE YOU ELECTRIC OR MANUAL BABES?
WANNA OIL ME UP?

LETS GO TO THE FAIR,
WE CAN GO ON THE BUMPER CARS,
WE’LL BE A PAIR,
WE’LL HAVE A CROWD,
THEY’LL ALL STARE,
AT ME!
COZ I’M THE ONE AND ONLY BLOOOODY WHEELCHAIR
i like wheels if you hadn’t of noticed.

oh yes i like wheelchairs

LET ME LIKE YOUR WHEELS
I LIKE WHEELS
WHEELS
WHEELS
WHEELS
LET ME SOOK YA WHEELS
SOOK SOOOOOOK SOOOKY
WHEELS
I WANT YOUR WHEELS YOU KNOW IT;)
LET ME AT YOUR WHEELS I’LL GIVE YOU THE RIDE (in a wheelchair) OF YOUR LIFEEE!
DON’T UNDERESTIMATE ME BABES I GOT ALL THE OIL AND WHEELS TREATMENTS THAT YOU NEED TO KEEP YUOR WHEELS ALL SHINY AND PERFECT DON’T WORRY ABOUT A THING BABES
I NEED YOUR WHEELS IT’S A NECCESARY THING FOR ME TO SOOK THEM NICEE AND WHEELY…
WHEELCHAIRS ARE GOOD
VERY VERY GOOD
JACK FROM EASTENDERS IS IN A WHEELCHAIR
AND HE LOVES IT VERY MUCH
I WILL SHOW YOU HOW MUCH YOU WILL LOVE THE RIDE IN A WHEELCHAIR
YOU WILL NOT FORGET

Will the UK be in Anarchy? is a post from: Oil Rig Jobs

anybody got any tips on finding a job on a oil rig in the uk/ireland?

oil rig jobs uk

anybody no the best place to look or get one… It very much depends on what skills you have to offer – the UK sector is shrinking and the days are long gone when anyone could just rock up and get a job as a roughneck or steward. I am qualified oil and gas heating installer and repair engineer. I am also qualified in air-con installation and repair. I have mig, spot ark welding, gas cutting and metal fabrication experience. I also have my City & Guilds 16th edition. I have my fork lift and LGV 1 & 2 licences.I am experienced in working with tools, instruments and operating heavy machinery. I am taking my BOSIET on 9th June and my UK and Norwegian medical on 10th June. I have applied for lots of jobs but cannot even get an interview. I am prepared to start as a roustabout or storeman but they all want experience. Where can you get experience. I don´t really want to have to pay out for a Greenhand course in case it is a waste of money. Any advice would be much appreciated
Thank you all for your quick replies. The BOSIET course includes the helicopter escape and survival. I have been trawling the internet since the end of March and have searched all posibilities I can think of. Any company names to search would be much appreciated.
Have now got my BOSIET. Speaking to the people on my course and it seems that all my qualifictions are not going to be enough. May have to take more welding courses and am also thinking about the Compex Electrical exam. Any thoughts about whether this will increase my chances. Have spoken to a couple of agencies in Aberdeen and they already have people with the Greenhand Cert on their books but with no experience so they are finding it hard to place them. Where on earth do you get the experience once you´ve got all the courses under your belt! I really do think it´s a case of "who you know!

If you wanting to start offshore as a Greenhand/Rousty you´ll need to do your Greenhand course, any areas involing working as deck crew its a must! I just did mine last week at Falck Onsite, 5days 1057 Quid, yip its a lot o money for sure. Your BOSIET, UKOOA Medical and your Greenhand, they are your main 3 to get anywhere to start with. Not to say that it will get you offshore any faster, as will know from searching and trying its like hens teeth out there. You never see greenhand jobs advertised and thats the frustrating part of it all, along with getting nowhere or nae answers from the drilling companies. It will happen through referrals eventually.

Good luck.

PS. Okay so there is a company called BP who are having a hard time at the moment and have by accident let a load of crude oil free in the ocean which is in turn effecting plants / fish / tourism etc etc.. But when the 4 companies who are actually responsible for the incident are all USA owned why i the president going after BP. Wake UP!!

The only reason Obama is even getting involved is because he knows he was only voted in because he was black and he is doing such a bad job of it people are starting to dislike him.

If it was BP’s fault, why when it blew up were only 2 BP people on board, the 11 people who died were all American as were the rest of the crew. Why?? Why should the queen be doing anything?? Did she build the rig, did she blow it up? Is she killing fish?? Those approvals, federal records show, include one for the well drilled by the Deepwater Horizon rig, which exploded on April 20, killing 11 workers and resulting in thousands of barrels of oil spilling into the gulf each day
MMS routinely overruled its staff biologists and engineers who raised concerns about the safety and the environmental impact of drilling proposals in the Gulf and in Alaska
Since 20 April 2010, when an explosion on the Deepwater Horizon rig killed 11 workers, 27 new offshore drilling projects have been approved by MMS. All but one project was granted similar exemptions from environmental review as BP. Two were submitted by the UK firm, and made the same claims about oil-rig safety and the implausibility of a spill damaging the environment

A May 2010 inspector general investigation revealed that MMS regulators in the Gulf region had allowed industry officials to fill in their own inspection reports in pencil and then turned them over to the regulators, who traced over them in pen before submitting the reports to the agency. MMS staff had routinely accepted meals, tickets to sporting events, and gifts from oil companies.[37] Staffers also used government computers to view pornography.[38] In 2009 the regional supervisor of the Gulf region for MMS pled guilty and was sentenced to a year’s probation in federal court for lying about receiving gifts from an offshore drilling contractor. "This deeply disturbing report is further evidence of the cozy relationship between MMS and the oil and gas industry," Salazar said.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minerals_Management_Service

All under Obama’s watch except for the signing agreement in 2008, how pathetic to have a "leader" like Obama who plays the blame game, its HIS WATCH and Obama said he was in charge since DAY ONE.

To excuse Obama…..dems will blame Bush. Bear in mind that the Russian data alone accounts for over 12% of all the IPCC data. We also know there are big discrepancies in the New Zealand and Australian data. While the oldest raw data in the world, from the CET (Central England Temperature) record proves no warming in the UK for over 350 years!

Again the new Russian accusation is completely believable, yet is completely unverifiable because CRU has refused to release the data. This data and code release that is the subject of illegal blocking of FOIA’s (freedom of information) is one of the keys in the Climategate emails. We need to know the list of stations used and we must have copies of the raw data to properly assess if a mega fraud has been perpetrated. If the Climategate scientists were real scientists and not crooks they would not have defied FOIA requests for three years. This is not how proper scientists do their work. And we would not now be in the position where lawsuits have been served to force these snake oil salesmen to show the world what they’ve got to hide.

The Russians are now making a very powerful accusation, which if true could totally stand on its head the whole climate science debate. Many of the so-called peer-reviewed papers allegedly supporting man made global warming are based on the Russian dataset that has the highest trend of the major ground datasets."
John Q….. I believe that the ‘report’ was carried by wattsupwiththat.com and climategate.com
Dana and Richard…. Thanks for your responses! I am just sort of curious as to why "Russian scientists" claimed that something was ‘unusual’ with the data.
Here is another link to the report/claim:

http://en.rian.ru/papers/20091216/157260660.html

Dana…. you provided a link making reference to an analysis done by Tim Lambert!!?? He’s the Keith Olbermann of Faux Warming…. not very credible.

Richard: "It doesn’t take a PhD to determine that the acceptance of propaganda, which reinforces bad behavior, and the level of denial will be higher."

Mike: "It doesn’t take a PhD to determine that the acceptance of propaganda, which paints actions of bad behavior, and the level of belief will be higher."

Go ahead Richard, tell me I am blind to my propaganda and you see it all clearly.

************************************************
Edit: Dana, excellent work. I think that link you provided qualifies for an entry into the next IPCC report.

Edit2: Dana, that wasn’t an ad hominem, it was sarcasm. Have you completely lost your sense of humor?

************************************************
Edit: Baccheus, excellent work. "He is a dishonest person with a political agenda. " Now if you could only find just one other example, you’d have enough for a blockbuster of a book, shock the world…yeah…

I’ll even help you get started—everyone who supports AGW is an honest person without an agenda. My suggestion would be to contact the offshore rig companies directly as to employment. Also, if you are not hire-able at the present time, ask them what other job skills you could obtain to become employable in the future such as land based rig experience in Europe, roustabout experience on land, etc.

You might also consider working for a oilfield service company such as Halliburton, Schlumberger, Baker, etc. which provide service support to offshore rigs and land-based drilling rigs.

Some links to pursue are below and then look for active rigs in the North Sea.

Contacts for working offshore on oil rigs..? is a post from: Oil Rig Jobs

Helicopter Pilot job outlook/availability?

oil rig jobs uk

Currently an EMT. Was going to goto fire school but I had a major injury (torn achillis) so thats out of the question. I’m checking out going to chopper school. I’ve seen some jobs here and there but really not too many.

Are there lots of helicopter jobs out there, entry and professional levels?

I know you can become a flight instructor, how much a year would you make doing that?

I live in Florida and the oil rigs in the gulf I know hire pilots to go back and forth. Is that lucrative? Do they hire entry level pilots?

The school I’m looking at has an FAA/JAA course for only about 1/4 more. I’ve been also thinking about moving out to the UK… does anyone know if they have lots of jobs out there and do you make good money?

The answer to this question is that the job outlook and availability are great for experienced pilots. Getting your foot in the door is the hard part, and the training is expensive ($70,000+ is about right) and difficult. You might hear things like "There has never been a better time to be a helicopter pilot" and people who tout pilot shortages. Just remember that the people saying those things are the flight schools that want your business. You can definitely make a career as a pilot, but you are going to have to want it to make it happen.

Entry Level
We might define entry level experience as having a commercial certificate, instructor rating, instrument rating, and about 200 hours of flight experience. Offshore operators cannot hire these pilots because they do not even meet regulatory requirements for part 135 (135 just refers to the section of the regulations that apply to those types of operations). Almost everyone will do flight instruction for their first 1000-1500 hours of flight experience. Again, Alloy is about right with $20,000 or so per year for flight instruction. You might make a little more if you work at a really busy school.

Instructor jobs can be tough to find. There is certainly a turnaround of instructors as they get their hours and move to the next level of work, but you have to catch a school when they need a new instructor. Working for the school where you train is ideal, but there are never any guarantees, and many schools graduate more students than they can hire. You may have to move to get your first job.

Once you get 1000+ hours, you can then apply for those jobs offshore, or doing tours in Alaska/Grand Canyon/Hawaii. Here again, you may have to move. I wouldn’t describe it as lucrative, but it’s not terrible. The more experience you have the better. You might start at $40,000-$50,000.

I really can’t tell you anything about the UK. Make sure you find someone who can before starting. Getting information from as many sources as possible is really important to make a decision and plan for this career.

I will tell you that Bristow Academy is an excellent school, if that’s the one you are considering. All of my instructors went there and had nothing but positive things to say about it. It has a good reputation as well.

You can read more here:

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ar2z2WhbNtFE91T3vLySjSnty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20081014162700AA6xQbc&show=7#profile-info-1HVs97Meaa

http://www.verticalreference.com/

http://www.justhelicopters.com/

http://www.helicopterflight.net/

Good luck!

Helicopter Pilot job outlook/availability? is a post from: Oil Rig Jobs

Helicopter Pilot job outlook/availability?

oil rig jobs uk

Currently an EMT.
