That’s what he’s always been about, that’s what his mother was all about, his grandparents, his big mentor, the Muslim terrorist loving communist who got him into Harvard. Acorn founder admitted he started Acorn to crush the US system, he worked for them. He also worked for Soros’s Joyce foundation which is also communist & aimes to crush our economic system … and Obama funded the Chicago Climate Exchange from Joyce that will help destroy the economy by pushing the power of energy to extremes … Obama admitted that’s what his plan would do in his own words.

This whole oil obstruction is instrumental in bringing down our economy. This countries economy can’t move without fuel below a certain price. Is offshore drilling worth the risk of damaging marine ecosystems? Is the decrease in oil prices worth it when we have alternative energy sources available? How did the BP oil spill effect your stance on the pros and cons of offshore drilling. . . ?

Well offshore drilling that takes place miles and miles away from the shore is more dangerous than close to the shore and on land drilling because of its inaccessibility. If a bad oil spill happens far out, we get what has happened in the Gulf recently. If the same thing were to happen, say, just a few miles off the shore, accessibility and water pressure would usually make for an easy fix and a smaller clean up job.

The only possible pro to way-off-shore-drilling as opposed to closer and land drilling (that I can think of) would be not having to look at a giant rig; and perhaps a spill would have a quicker effect on the ecosystem since the immediate shore is where a lot of the life is found.

Drilling for oil anywhere always carries with it the responsibility of maintaining and preventing failures. If smart and honest people head such operations, it can be a very safe and clean process; but in my opinion the safest way to drill is close to or on land.

Pros and Cons of Offshore Drilling? is a post from: Oil Rig Jobs

How do you get employees to stand up and management listen?

oil rig drilling jobs

I work offshore on a drilling rig. Someone decided one day that it would be a good idea to deviate from what has been the accepted "norm" pretty much since forever. What I am referring to is the practice of wearing extra extra thick cotton gloves. This person or people determined that there were too many hand injuries at our company and they instituted a policy that requires us to wear what is called IMPACT RESISTANT gloves. While I agree with the reasoning behind the policy, the gloves that have been chosen cause several problems for the wearer. First they cause blisters from the rubbing of the shielding parts. Second the glove part is made of neoprene so even when you do wash then and they look clean as soon as they get wet they drip the oil based mud that they are required to be worn in. We’ve been told that we are to wear latex or nitrile gloves underneath them. Have you even worn latex type gloves for any length of time?Your hands cannot breathe, they fill up so much with sweat that you can literally dump sweat out of them and your hands look like prunes. The palms are made of leather and everybody knows that when leather gets wet it is slippery. Now multiply that by leather being "soaked" in oil. But all of that isn’t the problem. Here is the problem, when I ask questions, the majority of guys say they hate the gloves and only keep a pair in their pocket in case a company "bigshot" or supervisor shows up. When I go to management I am told that the majority of people they have talked too feel the exact opposite. We have been banned from discussing policy during daily safety meetings so there is basically no way to bring the topic up and put guys on the spot. Guys don’t want to sign a petition for fear of losing their jobs. How do I convince people to stand up and management to listen?

First and foremost, Proper Protective Equipment isn’t made to be comfortable, its made to protect the wearer. They are always uncomfortable. I remember listening to a speaker on PPE, he hadn’t worn any and when the piping he worked on exploded he had burns all across his body. The best bet is to crack down hard, making clear repercussions for not using the gear. Although it may make you look mean, you are ultimately liable as the employer for the safety of your workers. The Management needs to know that they are held to this standard as well, if they cannot follow the policy, how can the junior employees? Its important to have an open atmosphere at work, so you should let your employees know that you value their input. Never punish the employee for discussing the implications of policy with you or supervisors, allow them to be open about it. However, while the policy is in effect, they should follow it.

Remember this: would you rather have workers who just say yes all the time, and tell you what you want to hear, even when your wrong, or would you like to have that guy who, abrasive though he may be, will tell you what you need to hear, and possibly save you big time?

How do you get employees to stand up and management listen? is a post from: Oil Rig Jobs

The EPA FAILS TO DO ITS JOB and Inspect the Deep water rig b4 Allowing it to Drill, But now Delays Emergency C?

oil rig drilling jobs

Cleanup to Test the Quality of water coming out of THE WHALE?
